Limited edition: 50 pcs
This generous serving plate originally served as a base for the largest tureen of the Swan Service. In terms of execution and sheer genius, it is on a par with the numerous show-pieces of the ensemble. For any Meissen connoisseur, this gem is a soiitaire: the swans, pure and white like the porcelain, the play of the water in rhythmic waves, shell ornamentation, reeds and herons – everything is worked as a relief on a generous rhombus shape. With great artistry, the repairer attaches the turned branches and leafage, the painter adds first the decorations in the Indian manner, and then finally Count Brühl’s coat of arms, encircled by an opulent golden rim. Here, all of Meissen’s arts are united.
